Here we have a client who has had to hold onto land for such a period of time pending planning that we have been called in for a site clearance so that the site doesn’t become and nuisance to neighbours. As this site clearance project was located in a conservation area, it was very imported to have the works completed this year as leaving it another year would risk the self seeded saplings from having a larger diameter of 100mm, meaning additional planning applications would be required. We were also up against the clock in regards the nesting season which started just 1 day after completion.

The order in works for the north London site clearance were as follows:

• 2 men headed in with just hedge trimmers to create enough space to open the gates and cut out enough of an area to set up our vehicles and chippers
• Next went in the ‘green climber’ an absolute must have for site clearance. This animal of a machine will devour brambles and saplings up to 150mm in diameter.
• Following this we sent in the 360 digger with flail attachment to get to the more intricate places that the mulcher could not. This multi pronged attack for this site clearance was particularly necessary due to the extreme amounts of fly tipping that we had to negotiate
• Finally the very last little bits around fences and corners were done by hand for an even better finish
