We have worked for London borough councils for a number of years maintaining and removing trees over the highway. We have experience in nearly every possible scenario involving trees and the highway from single track roads with temporary closures to the A10 dual carriageway, employing the use of a crash lorry for partial lane closures.
Certain situations will require traffic lights to prevent branches entering the highway or causing cars to swerve with potential for catastrophic consequences. When using traffic lights it often means we can set up in the road space, helping to protect the safety of workers.
Other situations where roads are generally quiet, spacious and with a clear line of sight, may not need the expense of traffic lights. In these scenarios, we are qualified to set up our own ‘work zone’ in the road; employing the use of correct size cones and signage.
